TCR Europe: Nagy and Homola in Barcelona seeking for podium finishes

The fourth TCR Europe event in the 2020 calendar is set to be very important for BRC Racing Team in order to achieve the season’s goals. With the growth proved in Monza, Dani Nagy and Mato Homola are motivated to show their value and confirm the positive trend.

The 4655 meters of the modern Spanish circuit, that hosted Formula 1 and MotoGP events earlier this year, saw BRC Racing Team at work with the Hyundai i30 N TCR during the pre-season tests. The team is heading to Barcelona with the aim of obtaining important points for improvement in the standings.

Gabriele Rizzo, Team Principal of BRC Racing Team, comments: “Our TCR Europe drivers’ path is constantly growing. Monza was another good weekend in terms of performance, but a couple of racing episodes precluded a better result in terms of championship points. Despite it all, we gained other positions in both drivers and team standings. We just have to keep working hard to improve. In such a compressed championship, Barcelona represents a turning point in order to confirm the goals of the beginning of the season".

Mato Homola says: “After the successful Monza event, when I have been the fastest Hyundai in quali and could grab 2 podium places (but after crash with other driver in Race 1 I took just 3rd place in Race 2), I am super motivated for Barcelona event. We have been testing there, we have quite good compensation weight, so I am very optimistic to have solid results in both races. Together with BRC Racing Team, I will do my best, as always”.

Dani Nagy comments: “We started our "post covid" preparations at Circuit Barcelona this year. It was the first time for me with this tyre compound and it went quite difficult at the beginning for myself so it will be good to see how much I improved since then. The compensation weight system will help us quite a bit in Spain so I expect good chances for us in the next event. The goal is to fight for a race win, but to do that I need a strong qualifying performance finally!”
