BRC Racing Team ready to attack the TCR Europe with Mato Homola and Daniel Nagy


Built on the worldwide success in the FIA WTCR - World Touring Car Cup, with the conquest of two consecutive titles, the team is ready to face this new challenge for the current year in the European series with two young drivers: the Slovakian Mato Homola and the Hungarian Daniel Nagy.

With the experience gained in the TCR category, BRC Racing Team will run two of its Hyundai i30 N TCR in the first event of the TCR Europe 2020 will take place at Paul Ricard this weekend.

Mato, born 1994, started his career at a very young age, and conquered the Central European Circuit Trophy at the age of 17. After a few seasons in FIA ETCC and a couple of races in WTCC, in 2016 he begins his career with TCR cars. In 2018 he participated in the FIA WTCR scoring a victory in the technical city circuit of Vila Real during the Race of Portugal weekend. His debut in TCR Europe with the Hyundai i30 N TCR dates back to last season.

Daniel, Hungarian driver, born 1998, has a rich experience despite his young age, and won the title in Hungarian Suzuki Swift Cup in 2013 and 2015. His debut in the TCR Series dates back to 2015. He participated in 2018 WTCR Race of Hungary, concluding on the podium. For the third consecutive year, Daniel will race with a Hyundai i30 N TCR.

 

Among the partnerships confirmed for the season there are historical names such as SparcoReal Vending and Giannitti Domenico s.r.l. but also welcome new entries such as Openjobmetis SpA, the first and only Employment Agency listed on the Italian stock exchange.

 

Action at the Paul Ricard Circuit in Le Castellet (France) begins on Friday with the two free practice sessions. Saturday features a full schedule with the qualifying and the Race 1 at 12:50. Sunday will feature the Race 2 at 12:15.

Gabriele Rizzo, Team Principal at BRC Racing Team, says: “The whole team can't wait to get back to racing after this long stop, we are well prepared and we will do our best to make our drivers compete for victory in every race, with the goal of playing for the title and being at the top also in the team standings”.

Mato Homola comments: "The team confirmed during the approach to the start of the season an incredible professional approach, they have a lot of experience and I felt in good care. I felt well prepared to this event and frankly I have no other goal than to win TCR Europe 2020 title, so I am super motivated. I believe with BRC Racing Team we will fight hard to achieve it".

Daniel Nagy’s comment on the forthcoming season: “Being part of the reigning touring car world champion team is a great honor for me. I am grateful to be able to work with such experts. Preparation for the season was excellent despite the forced break, we ran several tests, which is new for me. We felt ready”.
