BRC: to Austria to strenghten the leadership
Basso and Granai to start Liezen Rally
Giandomenico Basso’s and Lorenzo Granai’s hunt for the European Rally Tour 2017 qualification starts again from Austria, more precisely from Liezen, Styria.
The fourth continental series race, taking place from 28 to 30 September, can be crucial to determinate the final rank, and for this reason BRC Gas Equipment Racing Team should be careful to successfully succeed in one of the youngest, and yet spectacular, European competitions.
Giandomenico Basso and Lorenzo Granai will as always be driving the Hyundai I20 R5, with a new and revisited look, much beloved to the current Italian champions.
77 involved crews, from 12 different countries, challenging for many prizes including Austrian National Championship, for which this race is valid.
In the words of Giandomenico Basso “Liezen Rally is a new and unknown race to all of us,
and for this reason we should be careful not to make mistakes. We won’t be able to make reconnaissance and understand the tarmac grip before Thursday. According to the info I have and some videos I saw, we will also face some gravel . The race will likely be fast, so tyre choice could be determinant. We must also protect from the many local riders and run with eyes on the ranking, trying to increase our advantage in order to run free from calculations in the next round”.
Thursday, September 28 at 4 PM, Qualifying Stage will determine the starting order. Friday, 29th at 2.00 PM the start from Kulturhausplatz in Liezen, after that the 5 special stages of the first lag.
Saturday 30, from 9.00 AM, the last 8 breathtaking stages, for a total amount of 150 km of race and more than 300 of transfers.
