BRC Racing Team: a high-intensity 2026!
2026 is proving to be a particularly busy year for the BRC Racing Team, which is active on multiple international fronts alongside Hyundai Motorsport.
In the FIA TCR World Tour, the team manages two factory Hyundai Elantra N TCR cars for Hyundai Motorsport, driven by Norbert Michelisz and Mikel Azcona. Following the conclusion of the European leg, the championship is now preparing for the Asian rounds, with events in Korea, Chengdu and Zhejiang (China), and Macau. The season’s record so far is positive, featuring 3 pole positions and 3 victories. The standings also confirm the program’s competitiveness: Azcona is currently 2nd in the Drivers’ Championship and Michelisz 3rd, while the BRC Racing Team holds 2nd place in the Teams’ standings.
A highlight among the prestigious events of 2026 is the Nürburgring 24 Hours, which the team tackled for the first time on behalf of Hyundai Motor Company and Hyundai Motorsport. For this major endurance race held in May, BRC fielded three Hyundai Elantras—one TCR and two SP4T models—immediately securing a victory in the TCR class and bringing all three cars to the finish line. This was a particularly significant result on a circuit that has played a pivotal role in Hyundai’s motorsport history; indeed, the “N” badge identifying the brand’s performance range is a direct reference to the Nürburgring.
The team is also continuing its campaign in TCR Europe, managing two cars driven by young talents Alex Ley and Gabriele Covini, while providing technical and logistical support to a Korean Hyundai team running another two cars. With two rounds remaining in the season, Alex Ley remains firmly in contention for the European title. The program has already yielded 1 pole position, 1 victory, and 2 podium finishes.
On the rally front, testing and development activities continue in support of Hyundai’s FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) programs and the development of the Hyundai i20 N Rally2, directly involving Hyundai Motorsport factory drivers. This work further highlights the team’s technical expertise and its ability to operate across diverse motorsport disciplines and platforms.
Finally, the logistics management of spare parts and the assembly of TCR cars for Hyundai Motorsport—an initiative launched in 2025—continue to the client’s complete satisfaction. This service rounds out BRC Racing Team’s commitment to the manufacturer, extending beyond race operations to confirm the team’s role as a comprehensive technical and operational partner.
